In the Clutches Of Evil is the final boss level of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita. It is a two-part boss fight where the player faces off against two Hollow machines.

Part 1[]

In Part 1, the player faces off against the Extractor on a conveyor belt. The Extractor has several attacks:

  • Fire bouncing bolts towards the left
  • Fire guided bolts to the right which can take out crates or leave holes in the floor
  • Sweep with the main beam, ending with a bolt that leaves a hole in the floor

Every now and the, the Extractor will lose power and settle near the left with its brain facing right. A Bounce Pad and a grapple point will enter the arena to enable the player to hit the brain. After three hits to the brain, the Extractor will malfunction, destroy the right zapper, and break down as the conveyor belt shuts down.

Part 2[]

In Part 2, the player faces off against the Hollow Mech, which will fire Odd Rockets at the player. Then it will sweep left and right with a zapper on its "tongue", briefly shutting it off when it changes direction. After a few sweeps, the mech will lose power and the player is to use touch to yank the tongue down and then let go.

Grabinators will become available in the center of the arena as three large blocks appear on each side of the arena. The Hollow Mech will start firing Odd Rockets again, and the blocks must be destroyed, which can be done by catching the Odd Rockets and throwing them at the blocks. Manual Bounce Pads near the edges of the platform will assist players in taking out the blocks. After all the blocks are destroyed, the mech will start the zapper sweep attack again, then lose power for the player to execute another yank attack.

After the yank, the parts of the platform outside of the manual Bounce Pads will break and the rest of the platform will sway side to side, which will hinder taking out the last set of blocks. Once the blocks are gone, the mech will initiate the third zapper sweep attack, with the last two sweeps taking out the Bounce Pads and narrowing the platform even more before the mech loses power. One final yank to the tongue will put the Hollow Mech out of commission for good.
